Force focused on Blues
Having narrowly missed out against the Crusaders in a strong performance last Friday, Fergus Lee-Warner can’t wait to face the table-topping Blues.
“We had chances in that game and we could’ve won. We’ve shown people we’re a great team and we can compete with other great teams,” Lee-Warner said.
“We’re really excited to go to Auckland and play at Eden Park. It’s an amazing stadium, so it’ll be great for us to go out and challenge ourselves.
“We need to front up physically, as they’ve got a big pack in the forwards. We need to take it to them early and start well.”
Fresh from scoring a try on his Super Rugby starting debut, homegrown talent Ollie Callan is relishing his chance on the big stage.
“I really enjoyed running out and I couldn’t be happier,” Callan explained.
“My opportunity has come in the Trans-Tasman competition and I’m trying to grab it with both hands. I’m really enjoying being around the boys on tour and playing week-to-week.
“I’m very grateful to have come through the WA pathway. It’s been fantastic for me and I wouldn’t be where I am today with it.”
