21-year-old utility back Alex Newsome joins the Road Safety Western Force’s wider training group for the 2017 Super Rugby season after impressing while on trial throughout the pre-season. Newsome starred for the New South Wales Country Eagles in the Buildcorp National Rugby Championship to earn a trial with the West Australian club and took his opportunity in both hands to earn a contract. The talented youngster scored three spectacular intercept tries playing on the wing in the 2016 Buildcorp NRC and also has the ability to also play at inside centre and fullback. Born and raised in Glen Innes in northern New South Wales the former Australian Under 20’s is a tireless worker and has set his sights on a Super Rugby debut in 2017.

Stars for Eastern Suburbs in the Shute Shield. Represents NSW Country Eagles in Buildcorp NRC. Joins Western Force on trial for pre-season before signing a wider training squad contact in January.
