MOMENTUM WITH THE FORCE FOR SEMI FINAL
The Western Force is just one day away from making their first Super Rugby finals appearance in tomorrow night’s Semi Final against the ACT Brumbies in Canberra.
With the Force heading into the contest in a rich vein of form following three consecutive wins, head coach Tim Sampson is full of confidence with his squad heading into the historic match-up.
“We’ve had success away from home this year, so we’re comfortable wherever we play,” Sampson explained.
“It’s not just this week’s preparation that we reflect on, it’s the last month or so where we’ve built some nice momentum.
“We’re riding the wave at the moment. We’re in a great position.”
Having supported the club growing up in Perth, tomorrow’s Semi Final is particularly special for homegrown star and captain Kyle Godwin.
“The Force is so close and dear to my heart, so to represent them tomorrow night is huge for me and I’m looking forward to the challenge,” the capped Wallaby said.
“It’s a big game for us, but we’ve got such great experience in the team that brings a lot of composure with the likes of Jeremy Thrush, Richard Kahui, Tomás Cubelli, Rob Kearney and Ian Prior.
“It’s massive for us and we’re not here to simply make up the numbers. We want to go out there and put in a great performance tomorrow and get the win.”
