Breast Cancer Foundation of WA
Founded in 2000 by Ros Worthington OAM, the Breast Cancer Foundation of Western Australia Inc (BCFWA) is a WA charity that provides personalised emotional, practical and financial support to people affected by breast cancer. This includes carers and family, who have their own challenges and needs through the experience. Some of their most recognizable fundraising campaigns are the Long Table Lunch, Purple Bra Day and the Purple Twilight Walk.
The Emirates Western Force and BCFWA have taken part in a range of initiatives and events to raise awareness and show their support of BCFWA including holding their first ever Ladies Day at the home game against the Sharks on 21 March 2009. Players wore special edition pink jerseys which were later auctioned off and a limited number of retail jerseys were sold to raise over $20 000.
