Profile
James Hilterbrand joins the Emirates Western Force from the unlikely rugby nursery of Adelaide. The powerful hooker played his junior representative rugby for South Australia at Under 16, Schools and Under 21 levels before relocating to Sydney to pursue his rugby dream. The Human Movement graduate worked his way through the grades at Manly, starting in their Colts side before making his First Grade debut in 2011 and holding down the starting position in 2012. Last season the 23-year-old was a strong performer in a Marlins side that finished second on the Shute Shield ladder and went on to be selected at hooker for the Sydney Anchors side that defeated NSW Country 26-13. Working under two former Wallaby front-rowers in Michael Foley (Head Coach) and Nick Stiles (Forwards Coach), Hilterbrand is in excellent hands to see his rugby development thrive in 2013.
