With the continuing growth in women’s rugby in Western Australia, RugbyWA will be holding a Women’s Sevens development program, commencing Tuesday, 27 November.
The new initiative has been developed on the back of the success and increased participation in the Western Australian women’s club competition and increasing interest in the shorter, faster and more expansive game version of the sport.
Rugby Sevens will be included as an Olympic sport for the first time in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and RugbyWA is looking to provide talented local rugby players with a pathway to make the Australian women’s team.
The program will involve two weeknight training sessions (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) focusing on core skills and basic seven-a-side attack and defensive structures.
Training Details:
When: Tuesday & Wednesday Nights (Starting on Tuesday 27 November)
Time: 6pm-7.30pm
Where: Wanneroo Rugby Club, Kingsway Sporting Complex, Kingsway
If you would like to participate in the program please email RugbyWA Senior Development Officer Graham Cooper on graham.cooper@rugbywa.com.au with your contact details and playing history.
