More than $13,500 will be donated to David Pocock’s charity, Eightytwenty Vision, following the online auction of 16 Emirates Western Force match jerseys worn in the game against the Lions.
Eightytwenty Vision, a not-for-profit organisation currently working to assist the Nkayi community in Zimbabwe, will receive $13,751 from the sale of the jerseys, as well as donations collected at the gates.
Appropriately Pocock’s jersey was most sought after with a winning bid of $2,050 while Nathan Sharpe’s wasn’t far behind with a bid of $1,927.
The charity, which Pocock and close friend Luke O’Keefe co-founded in 2008, focuses on simple things that work to assist the community in becoming self-sustainable through training in conservation farming so people can feed themselves, bore holes for constant access to clean drinking water, refurbishing mothers waiting shelters so mothers can give birth in safer environments and school refurbishments to ensure the children can safely attend school.
